Dr. Syed Hadi Shah, M.D., CAQSM

Dr. Syed H Shah, MD, CAQSM is the founder and medical director of Central Florida Medical Center. Dr. Shah specializes in the nonoperative treatment of sports and orthopedic injuries as well as general medical conditions related to physical activity in athletes and non-athletes of all ages, from Pediatric to Geriatric populations.

A native of Greensboro, North Carolina, he received his undergraduate degree in Psychology from East Carolina University. After completing medical school in St Maarten, he completed a Family Medicine residency at New Hanover Regional Medical Center, an affiliate of the University Of North Carolina School Of Medicine, in Wilmington, North Carolina. During residency, Dr. Shah served as chief resident and was honored as the most outstanding resident for excellence in family medicine. Subsequently, he completed an extra year of fellowship training in Primary Care Sports Medicine with the University Of Nevada School Of Medicine, Las Vegas.

During his time in Las Vegas, Dr. Shah served as an associate team physician for the University Of Nevada Las Vegas Running Rebels Athletic Department. He has also provided medical coverage for athletic events of all levels from amateur to professional, including High school/Collegiate athletics, Semi-pro hockey, as a USA boxing ringside physician, an NBA summer league physician and for numerous Mass Participation Marathons.

Dr. Shah’s areas of interest include the non-surgical treatment and preventative management of musculoskeletal injuries and general family medicine. Specific interests include treatment of injuries sustained in automobile accidents and general medical conditions affecting the athlete (e.g., exercise induced asthma, sports anemia, concussions, and dermatologic issues), as well as providing medical coverage for boxing, football, basketball and soccer events.

Outside of his medical practice, Dr. Shah enjoys volunteering medical services in the community, whether it consists of providing lectures to other healthcare professionals/students, performing sports physicals for the local schools or providing medical coverage for events in the area. In his personal free time, he enjoys going to the gym while also participating in team sports and outdoor activities such as basketball, flag football, hiking, boating, fishing and kayaking.

Currently, Dr. Shah is board certified in both Family and Sports Medicine as a Diplomat of the American Board of Family Medicine. He holds active medical licensure in Florida, North Carolina and Nevada. He is also a member of the American Academy of Family Physicians, American Medical Society for Sports Medicine, American College of Sports Medicine, Florida Medical Association, West Orange Chamber of Commerce and USA Boxing.
